Create, Publish And Sell Your Own Content For SHIFT RPG!
The SHIFT Open License allows you to build new games, supplements and World Sparks that incorporate the SHIFT Core Rulebook. You may distribute what you build, either for free or monetized – this includes modules for virtual tabletop platforms!

If you are looking to create something that doesn’t fit under the guidelines in the license, please reach out to us at sol@rpgshift.com to discuss it.
If you create something using this license, please drop us a line, we would love to hear about it!
This license does not permit you to create or to distribute merchandise based on any of our games or artwork.
We also expressly forbid the use of our games, writing and art in the training of
generative AI tools.

No, the SOL doesn’t allow you to create material for any of the SHIFT World Sparks. We encourage you to create your own!

No, the SOL doesn’t permit the use of Risky’s likeness on third-party projects. You can however make your own rabbit characters!

Yes, under the SOL, you are allowed to modify or expand on SHIFT mechanics, as long as SHIFT is identified as the originating system and the attribution from the SOL is included in the game’s text.

As long as your game isn’t promoting hate or bigotry and includes the appropriate content warnings, you can include them in your SHIFT-compatible material. If you choose to handle sensitive topics, we encourage you to work with sensitivity consultants to depict them with care. We also recommend that you mention safety tools that people can use when playing your game.
